If you have been using the Accelerate Xero integration prior to this new functionality being released then you will need to be aware of these changes, although hopefully this functionality resolves a lot of the issues we currently have with the integration.

Firstly, your Xero integration will be disabled to all users until you connect your Xero account. To do this head to Settings > Xero Settings and click 'Connect To Xero'. You will be prompted to log into your Xero account and grant Accelerate access to your Xero organisation. This will be the only time you will need to log into Xero, so your users no longer need Xero access and you can delete any Xero user accounts that you create for this integration to work. As long as you are connected to Xero on this page then all users that have Can Send To Xero checked will have access to the Xero integration.

The biggest change is that you need to specify the Xero account code on all invoice lines before sending the invoice to Xero. Previously you had to create nominal accounts in Accelerate to match your Chart of Accounts in Xero. This is no longer necessary but you will need to populate the Xero Account Code and Xero Tax Type on each invoice line. To make this quicker and easier, the Xero Tax Type defaults from the Xero Account Code and you can default the Xero Account Code from either the Cashflow Type or the Nominal Account code. See our article 'Defaulting Xero Account Codes' below for more information.

You will also find it much easier to manage you links between invoice payers and Xero contacts. Instead of editing accounts reference records, there is a new section in Settings > Xero Settings dedicated to managing these links. See our article 'Managing Links to Contacts' for more information.
